Digital Investigation Training Program commences for JK Police IOs with NIA | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, May 29: A two-day Capacity Building Program on digital and technical investigation, focused on UAPA cases, started at the Police Headquarters in Srinagar. The program, organized under the direction of the Director General of Police, J&K, brings together officers from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Prosecution officers, and the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The inaugural session was graced by S.J.M. Gillani, Additional Director General of Police, Armed/IR Jammu and Kashmir. During the session, S.J.M. Gillani emphasized the importance of staying ahead of modern-day criminals by continuously upgrading knowledge and skills. MK Sinha, ADGP (Coord/Hqrs) PHQ, urged the participating officers to focus on learning new things and enhancing their knowledge. The program aims to equip the officers with digital investigation techniques and improve conviction rates in UAPA cases. The training program received participation from officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, as well as representatives from six police training institutes. The faculty team from NIA, along with senior police officers, were present at the event. The program is expected to enhance the investigative skills of the officers and familiarize them with various tools of data extraction and evidence presentation in the court of law. SSP NIA Rajiv Omparkesh Pande expressed gratitude for the collaboration with the J&K Police and highlighted the benefits of previous training programs. The program includes sessions on digital investigation techniques and will provide a platform for sharing experiences and expertise. The training program, aimed at improving the capacity of the officers in digital investigation, is the eighth of its kind organized by NIA in collaboration with the J&K Police. Over 750 officers have benefited from these programs in the pas. |
