Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan organizes Yuva Utsav in Poonch

POONCH, May 29: Nehru Yuva Kendra Poonch, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, today organised District Level Yuva Utsav in the new auditorium of Government Degree College Poonch. The event was organised on the theme "Panch Pran of Amritkaal."
The main objective of the programme was to celebrate the "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav" in the spirit of Yuva Shakti se Jan Bhagidari and to form a fraternity of young artists, writers, photographers and orators of the country under the mentorship of experts. Similar programmes are being organised across all 623 districts of the Country by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
District Youth Officer, Nitin Hangloo briefed about the objectives of the programme. He said that in one day programme, five different events/ competitions will be organised. Youth will participate in Young Writers Contest (Poetry), Young Artists Camp (Painting), Mobile Photography Contest, Declamation Contest, Cultural Fest - Group Folk Dance. He added that the objective of the programme is to provide a platform to the talented youth of the district.
Er Ishfaq Choudhary, Vice Chairperson District Development Council Poonch, presided over the Inaugural Ceremony. He appreciated NYKS Poonch for engaging rural youth in Nation Building activities. He said that this is a great opportunity for the youth to showcase their art and talent.
Nazuk Shah along with Gulnaz Chouhan and Vikrant Sharma were the jury members of Cultural Festival, while S D Sharma, Adv Iftikhar Ahmed Bazmi and Muzaffar Ahmed judged the participants of Declamation Contest. Ankit Sudan and Tariq Saifi judged the Painting Competition, while Abdul Hamid along with Nazarat Fareed and Rajinder Sharma were the jury members for the Poetry Competition. Adv Ilyas Khwaja, Sheraz Sikander and Mohd Imran judged the Mobile Photography Workshop.
More than 200 young boys and girls from every nook and corner of the district showcased their talent in their respective categories. Students from different educational institutions of the district also participated in the mega event. Cultural teams belonging to the remotest corners of the district added colours to the event.
The Valedictory session was presided over by Malikzada Sheraz ul Haq, Additional District Development Commissioner Poonch.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that this program is a wonderful opportunity for the youth of the district to showcase their art and talent. He further said that NYKS is doing a good work in involving the youth in constructive works.
In the valedictory session, appreciation certificates were presented to the Jury Members and certificates and mementos to the winners of all the categories. The winners shall now participate in the State Level Yuva Utsav. Special Appreciation Certificates were awarded to the Jury Members.
