Grievances redressal bedrock of responsive administration: DDC Vice-Chairperson Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, May 29: Juhi Manhas Pathania, Vice-Chairperson of the District Development Council Udhampur, emphasized the importance of grievances redressal in building a responsive system. During interactions with public delegations, she stressed the need to have a broader perspective and adopt technological skills and best practices to effectively address the needs of the people.
Numerous delegations visited the office of Vice-Chairperson Juhi Manhas Pathania at the DC office complex to highlight various issues. These included concerns about uninterrupted drinking water supply, electricity provision, and road connectivity.
A delegation from Chenani, led by Pinky Devi, raised the issue of a shortage of teaching staff in GPS Chapper. Pathania took immediate action by discussing the matter with the CEO of Udhampur and assured prompt resolution.
Another delegation from ST Bastis in Sattian and Laddana of Ramnagar requested electricity supply to their houses and the immediate commencement of work on PMGSY roads in the area.
A delegation from the Pattangarh area appealed for the introduction of a matador service from Chenani to Pattangarh. Mrs. Pathania assured the delegation of positive action on this request. Various other delegations, led by DDCs and PRI members, engaged in detailed discussions with the Vice-Chairperson regarding key developmental issues in their respective areas. These issues included water scarcity, irregular water supply, electricity provision, staff shortages, and inadequate infrastructure in schools and health institutions. Pathania took up these concerns with the relevant departments and instructed them to provide feasible solutions.
She also urged the Groundwater Department to repair dysfunctional pumps and advocated for regular tanker services in dry and arid areas facing severe drinking water scarcity. Pathania emphasized the need for coordination between the civil and mechanical wings of the Jal Shakti Department to ensure proper water supply, especially during hot weather conditions. She assured the delegations that all their demands would be properly addressed
The Vice-Chairperson attentively listened to various other grievances raised by individuals and groups and assured them of her dedicated attention.
