Early Times Report

Samba, May 29: The Special Investigation Team (SIT), formed under the supervision of SSP Samba Benam Tosh, has filed a chargesheet in the perplexing death case of Vaishali, a girl student from Sumb, who was found dead in suspicious circumstances in Ludhiana. The SIT conducted a thorough investigation, collected evidence, apprehended the suspects, and completed the inquiry within a specified timeframe. The chargesheet has been presented in court for further legal proceedings.
Vaishali, a bright student at Government Degree College Samba and a talented sportsperson, went missing on August 20, 2022, after attending college. A missing person report was filed at the Samba police station.
The following day, her lifeless body was discovered under mysterious circumstances near a railway track within the jurisdiction of GRP PP Sarmalla in Ludhiana. This incident sparked protests, with demands for strict legal action against the culprits.
Following an application from the girl’s father, the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of Samba directed SSP Samba to conduct a preliminary inquiry.
In compliance with the court’s orders, DySP Hqrs Samba conducted the preliminary inquiry, gathering statements, examining call records, and discreetly obtaining information.
The report concluded that the matter was serious and necessitated the registration of an FIR.
Consequently, the Hon’ble CJM ordered the police, under section 156(3) of the CrPC, to register an FIR under the relevant sections of the law.
The case was duly registered at the Samba police station, and the primary accused, Sunil Kumar Sharma, son of Late Pritam Chand from Markoli Taloor Samba, was arrested.
