| GDC Thannamandi hosts induction programme for BA/BSc Semester-I students | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 19: Government Degree College Thannamandi organized a special induction programme to warmly welcome the fresh batch of students joining the B.A/B.Sc Semester-I, following the guidelines of the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP-2020). The event was conducted under the guidance and patronage of the College Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Farooq Ahmed, and witnessed active participation from the college's teaching staff.
The event commenced with an opening address by Dr. Khalid Rayaz, Head of the Department of Geography, who greeted the newcomers with enthusiasm and encouraged them to embrace the values of discipline in their daily lives. Dr. Khalid emphasized the significance of the students' contributions towards the college's development and their roles in nation-building.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Farooq Ahmed also addressed the gathering, sharing his valuable insights with the students. Prof. Farooq Ahmed shed light on the NEP-2020, highlighting its key principles, as well as the guidelines set forth by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The induction programme garnered active participation from almost all staff members of the college, making it a comprehensive introduction for the incoming students.
