Govt SPMR College of Commerce hosts seminar on "International Education and Career Abroad"

JAMMU, Oct 19: The Manodarpan Career Counseling Cell of Govt. SPMR College of Commerce organized an enlightening seminar on "International Education and Career Abroad" in collaboration with AECC, Study Abroad Consultants, specifically for final year students. Dr. Surinder Kumar, the Principal of the college, graced the event as the chief guest and commended the committee members for their efforts in organizing a session that was not only of great interest but also highly beneficial for the students.
In her address, Prof. Savita Jamwal, Head of the Department of Economics, motivated the students to maximize the opportunities to study abroad and take a bold step towards building their careers. Prof. Ashu Manhas, the Coordinator of the Manodarpan Career Counseling Cell, warmly welcomed all the participants and highlighted the seminar's objective, which was to empower students with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions about their academic and professional journey.
Mr. Rakesh Sharma, Branch Manager from AECC, Jalandhar, served as the resource person for the event. During an interactive session with the students, he provided an insightful overview of international education and career prospects abroad. He elaborated on the various reasons for pursuing education abroad, including better career opportunities, personality development, world-class education, post-study work opportunities, and exposure to a multicultural environment.
Mr. Sharma also discussed popular study destinations such as Australia, Canada, the UK, and the USA, as well as lesser-explored options for pursuing master's degrees in Ireland, New Zealand, Dubai, and Germany. He shared valuable information about the levels of education, the cost of education, post-study work rights, and available scholarships for students interested in studying abroad.
The seminar was attended by more than 60 students, and it was graced by several prominent faculty members, including Dr. Monika Malhotra, Dr. Sandhya Bhardwaj, Prof. Reeta Meenia, Prof. Sanjeev Verma, Dr. Shipra Gupta, Dr. Jagmeet Kaur, Prof. Rajni Bala, Dr. Roomi Rani, Prof. Khalid Hussain, and Mr. Raman Kumar.
The entire event was meticulously coordinated by Prof. Apfan Ali, Head of the Department of Urdu, and expertly managed by Prof. Ashu Manhas, the Coordinator of the Manodarpan Career Counseling Cell. The seminar successfully empowered students with valuable insights and information about international education, expanding their horizons for future academic and career endeavors.
