Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 13: In a strong response to Dr. Farooq Abdullah's recent statement and emphasizing the need to move beyond Article 370, Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit has urged political leaders to focus on pressing public issues rather than dwelling on historical matters. The state chief, Manish Sahni, condemned Dr. Abdullah's "go to hell" remark, stating that while Article 370 is now history following the Supreme Court's decision, some politicians remain fixated on it, potentially hindering opposition unity.
Addressing the media at the party state office, Manish Sahni highlighted the impact of the Supreme Court's decision on parties and leaders who previously garnered political mileage from Article 370. He acknowledged Dr. Farooq Abdullah's subsequent clarification but stressed the importance of moving forward and concentrating on public concerns.
Sahni advised those persistently advocating for Article 370 to relinquish their fixation and look ahead. He acknowledged Dr. Farooq Abdullah as a senior leader in Jammu and Kashmir politics, urging unity among opposition parties to address public issues. Sahni emphasized the need to push for full statehood for Jammu and Kashmir, restore the democratic process, and safeguard the rights of local residents.
Highlighting critical challenges such as rising youth drug addiction, unemployment, and inflation in Jammu and Kashmir, Sahni urged a collective effort to address these pressing issues. He called for a united front in advocating for the well-being of the region's youth and the overall socio-economic development.
During the media interaction, other party leaders including President Women Wing Meenakshi Chhibber, General Secretary Vikas Bakshi, Vice President Sanjeev Kohli, President Kamgar Sena Raj Singh, and Secretaries Rajesh Handa, Mahindra Singh, and Rajinder Kumar were present. The party's stance reflects a call for a forward-looking approach, prioritizing the current needs and challenges faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
