Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 14: In a nod to the rugged beauty of the Thar Desert, Mahindra has unveiled the Thar Earth Edition, a captivating variant of its iconic SUV. The Thar Earth Edition, adorned in a striking Desert Fury satin matte paint scheme, promises to captivate enthusiasts with its unique design elements and enhanced features. Available in four variants within the LX Hard Top 4x4 configuration, the Thar Earth Edition boasts a price range starting from Rs 15.40 lakh, extending up to Rs 17.60 lakh (ex-showroom). Despite maintaining the distinctive silhouette of the beloved Thar, the Earth Edition distinguishes itself through exclusive design elements, including dune-inspired decals adorning the rear fenders and doors, Earth Edition badging on the B-pillars, and matte black badges. Complementing its aesthetic appeal are the 17-inch silver alloy wheels, exuding a sense of adventure and sophistication.
Stepping into the cabin, occupants are greeted by a harmonious blend of black and light beige tones, accentuated by dune designs on the headrests and dark chrome accents throughout. The Thar branding on the doors serves as a subtle reminder of the vehicle's illustrious heritage, while Desert Fury-colored inserts infuse a sense of vitality into the interior space. Each unit of the Thar Earth Edition will boast a unique numbered decorative VIN plate, adding an exclusive touch to the ownership experience.
Under the hood, customers have the option to choose between petrol and diesel powertrains, catering to diverse preferences and driving styles. The diesel variant is propelled by a robust 2.2-liter, four-cylinder, turbocharged engine delivering 130PS and 300Nm of torque, while the petrol variant is equipped with a 2.0-liter, turbocharged engine generating 150PS and 320Nm of torque. Both engine options offer the flexibility of either a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission, ensuring a seamless and exhilarating driving experience across varied terrains.
Mahindra enthusiasts can further personalize their Thar Earth Edition with a range of optional accessories, including custom front and rear armrests, floor mats, and a comfort kit, allowing them to tailor their vehicle to suit their individual preferences and lifestyle. With the launch of the Thar Earth Edition, Mahindra continues to uphold its legacy of delivering rugged yet refined vehicles that resonate with adventure seekers and automotive aficionados alike. Embodying the spirit of exploration and innovation, the Thar Earth Edition invites enthusiasts to embark on unforgettable journeys across the vast expanse of the Thar Desert and beyond.
