Two-Day ICT Workshop at GDC Kathua

Kathua, Nov 29: The Department of Computer Science at Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized a two-day workshop on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for the faculty members of the college. The workshop, held under the patronage of Principal Prof. Seema Mir, aimed at enhancing faculty skills and understanding of ICT tools in modern education.
Prof. Seema Mir, in her address, expressed her appreciation for the Department of Computer Science and IQAC for organizing the workshop. She emphasized the importance of staying updated with the latest ICT tools and techniques in today’s fast-evolving educational landscape.
The workshop, led by Prof. Shiv Kumar, Head of the Department of Computer Science, began with a welcome speech highlighting the significance of ICT in contemporary education. It featured interactive sessions and hands-on activities.
On the first day, Dr. Gotam Singh Lalotra and Prof. Bharat conducted a keynote lecture on handling ICT Smart Boards/Panels and the efficient filing of Annual Performance Reports (APR) on designated portals.
The second day focused on the JK Attendance Portal and JUCC Portal, with Prof. Shiv Kumar and Prof. Deepak leading the session. Prof. Shiv Kumar also introduced the upcoming Student Management System that will soon be implemented in the college. The workshop was well-received by the faculty, who appreciated the practical, hands-on approach that enriched their understanding of modern ICT applications in education.
