3/5/2025 10:40:06 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 5: Despite the ruling National Conference (NC) reaching out to the Congress to ensure smooth functioning of the ongoing budget session, the grand old party is facing mounting pressure from its grassroots workers to expose the NC regime over its alleged failure to fulfill promises made in its election manifesto.
Sources within the Congress revealed that party leaders are particularly upset over the address of the Lieutenant Governor, which, according to them, focused primarily on the schemes and initiatives of the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre, while ignoring key commitments made by the National Conference during the assembly elections.
Although Chief Minister Omar Abdullah highlighted the role of former Prime Ministe
Congress is facing pressure from its grassroots workers to expose the NC regime.
The Congress leaders are upset over LG's address which, according to them, focused on the schemes and initiatives of the BJP-led Central government.
Congress workers have advised their MLAs to adopt a tough stance and not offer blanket support to the government.
The Congress legislators are now awaiting the presentation of the state budget.
Dr. Manmohan Singh in initiating several developmental projects in Jammu and Kashmir, Congress workers have advised their MLAs to adopt a tough stance and not offer blanket support to the government, especially on issues linked to the NC’s election manifesto.
According to sources, Congress legislators are now awaiting the presentation of the state budget. If the budget fails to incorporate the economic promises made by the National Conference during the polls, the Congress is likely to take an aggressive posture and directly confront the government during the session.
With internal dissent brewing and party workers demanding accountability, the Congress appears to be walking a tightrope between coalition dharma and the expectations of its support base.
