Indian Red Cross Society, undertakes key humanitarian initiatives

JAMMU, Mar 12: The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), J&K, under the leadership of Hon'ble Lt. Governor Sh. Manoj Sinha (President, IRCS J&K-UT) and the supervision of Rohit Khajuria (General Secretary, IRCS J&K), continues its humanitarian mission across the Union Territory. On March 12, 2025, IRCS J&K carried out several significant activities:
IRCS J&K Registered Under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
IRCS J&K, a voluntary humanitarian organization dedicated to assisting vulnerable communities, has now been officially registered under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). This registration enables the society to receive financial support from corporate entities, banks, and business houses for social initiatives. Through CSR funding, IRCS J&K aims to enhance its disaster relief efforts, healthcare programs, and welfare activities in a transparent and ethical manner.
J&K Bank Donates Rs 19.60 Lakh for TB Prevention Project
Jammu & Kashmir Bank has contributed Rs 19.60 lakh under CSR to support IRCS J&K's Tuberculosis (TB) prevention initiative. The funds have been released to the District Red Cross Society, Jammu, to provide nutritional support to 1,400 TB patients for two months.
The project focuses on raising awareness about TB, patient care and counseling, and strengthening community participation in TB prevention. By ensuring access to proper nutrition, IRCS J&K aims to enhance treatment adherence and improve patient health outcomes.
These initiatives reaffirm IRCS J&K's commitment to social welfare and public health, working towards a healthier and more resilient community.
