Developing sports infra in J&K Centre’s priority: Mandaviya

Gulmarg, Mar 12: Asserting that famous ski resort Gulmarg is becoming popular across the country for winter games, Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, on Wednesday said that every effort will be put to develop the sports infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking to reporters at the sidelines of the concluding ceremony of ‘Khelo India Winter Games’ 2025 here in North Kashmir, Mandaviya, said, “The Government of India (GoI) will ensure that no stone is left unturned to develop sports sector and infrastructure in J&K.”
Mandaviya said that more than 750 athletes from the different parts of the country participated in KIWG-2025. “The spectators and the participants saw an atmosphere of enthusiasm and joy in the event,” he said.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of “Viksit Bharat,” Mandaviya said, “PM Modi has assured that we will see a developed India by the year 2047 when the India would be commemorating 100 years of independence.”
“To make this a developed India, the participation of every citizen of the country should be ensured,” he added.
The Minister said that the Centre will connect through Viksit Bharat Yuva “We will hold discussions with the youth in universities and colleges and invite further suggestions and recommendations for the betterment of the sports sector.”
