SRINAGAR, Mar 25: Jammu and Kashmir is set to experience isolated light rain and thunderstorms over the next three days.
According to the Meteorological Centre Srinagar, over the next 24 hours there is a possibility of light rain or Snow in higher reaches at scattered places mainly over North & Central Kashmir.
The outlook for the subsequent two days indicates scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rain, accompanied by gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph.
The MeT said that a spell of light to moderate rain and snow is expected in Jammu and Kashmir, mainly in north and central Kashmir, between March 26 afternoon and March 27 late afternoon.
The weather is expected to gradually improve thereafter. From March 28 to 31, the forecast indicates generally dry conditions. The dry weather is likely to continue into the first three days of April.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir continues to witness above-normal temperatures, with both day and night temperatures rising across the region.
MeT said the maximum day temperature remained 2-8°C above normal in many parts.
Similarly, minimum night temperatures were also 3-5°C above normal in Kashmir and 0-4°C above normal in Jammu.
The ski resort of Gulmarg in Baramulla district recorded a night temperature of 3.6°C .
Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 9.8°C, which is 4.4°C above normal, while Qazigund in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district saw 7.2°C, 3.3°C above normal.
Pahalgam, a popular tourist destination, registered 5.8°C, marking a 5°C rise above normal. Kupwara recorded 6.5°C, 2.9°C above normal.
