10 injured in Bijbhera accident

SRINAGAR, June 15: At least ten people were injured when a Taveera vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident near the NHW Fruit Mandi in Jalblipora area of Bijbhera in Anantnag district on Sunday. The vehicle, bearing registration number JK14B-9328, hit a road divider near the National Highway Fruit Mandi, resulting in injuries to all ten passengers on board.
“The injured were immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bijbhera. Seven among them were later referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for specialised treatment, while the remaining three were discharged after receiving first aid. The injured have been identified as Sanjay Kumar (30) son of Sri Biree Singh, resident of New Delhi; Benu (33) wife of Sanjay Kumar, resident of Agra, Uttar Pradesh; Ajay (22) son of Dharminder, resident of Faridabad; Ifat (23) wife of Ajay Kumar, also from Faridabad; Dharminder (48) son of Ram Dass, resident of Faridabad; Anjali (17) daughter of Dharminder, resident of Faridabad; and Durgash Devi (47) wife of Dharmendra Kumar, resident of Faridabad, Haryana,” officials said.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident.
