Early Times Report

Jalandhar, July 12: From crime scene investigation and digital fraud detection to environmental forensics and public health analysis, the scope of forensic science has broadened immensely in recent years. As the global demand for skilled professionals continues to rise, Lovely Professional University (LPU) stands out for its future-ready, scientifically rigorous Forensic Science programs. Admissions are currently open for undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels.
LPU’s curriculum is aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and blends a strong theoretical foundation with hands-on learning. Students gain real-world exposure through advanced virtual forensic labs, mock crime scene simulations, and dedicated labs for ballistics, toxicology, cyber forensics, and DNA analysis. The emphasis is on developing practical competence, going beyond classroom learning to mastering industry-relevant tools and techniques.
LPU’s Forensic Science programs are backed by strong academic rigor and expert mentorship, with a sharp focus on skill application and industry relevance. Guiding this vision is Dr. Ajay Sharma, Director of the State Forensic Science Laboratory, Jaipur, whose deep insights help shape a curriculum that is not only current but transformative. His involvement ensures students are equipped to address today’s complex investigative and analytical challenges.
“The strength of our program lies in its commitment to applied science,” said Dr.Tejasvi Pandey, Head of the Department of Forensic Sciences at LPU. “Forensics today intersects with cybersecurity, pharmaceuticals, environmental monitoring, and disaster response. We train students to think across disciplines and adapt scientific knowledge to serve justice, truth, and public interest.”
Strategic collaborations with institutions such as the Mahavir Cancer Institute (Patna) and the Sherlock Institute of Forensic Science (Delhi) further enhance students' opportunities for research, internships, and field-based learning. Doctoral scholars have also worked with top centers including AIIMS, PGI Chandigarh, and various CFSLs and FSLs nationwide.
“LPU gave me the right blend of training, lab access, and mentorship to grow as a forensic professional,” shared LPU alumnus Sangeeth A.K. “The hands-on exposure here shaped my investigative approach and helped me secure a position at the Central Forensic Science Laboratory.”
The program’s success is reflected in its outcomes. A growing number of students have cleared national-level exams such as UGC-NET, JRF, FACT, and FACT Plus. Alumni have earned placements at leading forensic labs, the Punjab Police, SIFS, and corporate organizations including Amazon and Cyint Technologies. Many are also pursuing advanced studies at top international universities like the University of Technology Sydney, Teesside University (UK), and the University of Strathclyde (Scotland). Admissions are now open. Interested candidates can apply through the official university website.
