MoU signed between GDC Majalta, GDC Neeli Nallah for Academic Collaboration

Udhampur, July 12: In a significant step toward promoting academic excellence and inter-institutional cooperation, Government Degree College (GDC) Majalta and GDC Neeli Nallah signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today.
The MoU aims to foster collaborative initiatives between the two institutions in the fields of research, faculty development, student exchange, skill enhancement programs, and resource sharing. The partnership marks a new chapter in strengthening higher education in the region.
The signing ceremony was held at GDC Neeli Nallah in the presence of the DDC Udhampur , Sh. Lal Chand,the college principals, faculty members, and student representatives. Prof. (Dr.) Seema Arora, Principal of GDC Neeli Nallah, and Prof. (Dr.) Shalini Sharma, Principal of GDC Majalta, formalized the MoU with a shared vision of providing holistic educational development to the students of both colleges.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Seema Arora, Principal, GDC Neeli Nallah, said:
“It is indeed a proud occasion to witness the coming together of two forward-looking institutions. This Memorandum of Understanding reflects our shared belief in inclusive, collaborative, and quality education. By joining hands with GDC Majalta, we envision a broader academic horizon for our students and staff alike."
“This MoU will enable us to launch joint programs in research, student skill enhancement, and cultural exchange that not only empower our students but also bring the community closer to the spirit of learning. Let us continue working with the same zeal and vision for the betterment of our academic ecosystem.”
Echoing this spirit, Prof. (Dr.) Shalini Sharma, Principal, GDC Majalta, added:
“Today marks a historic moment for both GDC Majalta and GDC Neeli Nallah as we embark on a journey of mutual academic growth and innovation. This MoU is not just a document of collaboration—it is a promise to our students that we are committed to their holistic development. Through shared resources, faculty expertise, and enriched student activities, we hope to cultivate an environment that is intellectually stimulating and professionally rewarding.”
“Higher education today demands that institutions think beyond boundaries. With this partnership, we aim to break silos and create a unified academic space where knowledge is not confined to a single campus. I sincerely thank Prof. (Dr.) Seema Arora and her team for their progressive vision, and I believe this collaboration will set a benchmark for other institutions in the region.”
Dr. Chander Mohan, Associate Professor of English (GDC Majalta), and Dr. Sunil Tanoch (GDC Neeli Nallah), the key coordinators of the initiative, emphasized the importance of collaborative learning and how such tie-ups can enhance academic standards and open new career pathways for students.
The partnership will encompass joint seminars, cultural exchanges, internships, workshops, and co-curricular engagements throughout the academic year 2025–26.
