Protest against not issuing Gazette Notification of the Eighth Pay Commission yet | | | Early Times Report
New Delhi, Aug 30: In the meeting of the Working Committee of the All India Railwaymen’s Federation (AIRF) held on 28 August 2025, after extensive discussion on the present preparation issues, it was decided that since the Government of India has not yet issued the Gazette Notification of the Eighth Pay Commission even after more than six months have passed since its announcement, and in view of the grave concern among all central Govt employees including the railway employees across the country, the Government of India should be given an immediate warning. Accordingly, all the affiliated unions of the All India Railwaymen’s Federation (AIRF) will hold a massive demonstration at every branch level across the country on 19 September 2025, coinciding with the martyrdom day of 19 September. The General Secretary of the All India Railwaymen’s Federation (AIRF), Shri Shiva Gopal Mishra, has appealed to the lakhs of employees across the country to pay special attention to the fact that the resentment is spontaneous, natural and widespread. He has also urged the Government of India to immediately issue the Gazette Notification of the Eighth Pay Commission and take steps to reduce the prevailing discontent among government employees. |
