Javed Ahmad Rana committed to compensate them adequately | | |  early times report
Jammu, Sept 1: Honble Minister Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology and Environment and Tribal Affairs of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir Mr Javed Ahmad Rana along with Rattan Lal Gupta Provincial President Jammu Province, JKNC today visited the flood-hit areas to take first hand stock of the situation arising out of incessant rains and overflowing rivers/ streams. During the visit, the Honble Minister interacted with the affected families, listened to their grievances, and assured them of all possible support from the administration. He directed the concerned departments to remain on high alert, ensure timely relief and provide immediate rehabilitation measures including supply of food, drinking water, medicines and temporary shelter wherever required. The Honble Minister emphasized that the Government stands shoulder to shoulder with the people in this hour of crisis. He instructed the officials to speed up the damage assessment so that adequate compensation can be provided at the earliest. Mr Rattan Lal Gupta emphasized the need to assess the losses without wasting any time and provide relief and compensation to the deserving so that they sustain the life. Mr Gupta appealed to the Home Minister of India who is currently visiting the J&K to ensure that a comprehensive relief package is sanctioned as early as possible to compensate flood hit, cloudburst and landslides victims. Mr Gupta further appealed to the people to maintain calm and cooperate with the administration and assured that every effort is being made to restore normalcy at the earliest.
