Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 1: Indian Railways has a huge network across the country which makes it an attractive platform for advertisers. Which shows the increase in the revenue of the railways. On the basis of this policy, in the Jammu division of Northern Railway, under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Mr. Vivek Kumar and the leadership of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Mr. Uchit Singhal, the non-fare revenue strategy is being made successful to increase the income of the railways, which includes providing attractive opportunities for advertisements. Under this, in the month of June, all the Vande Bharat trains of the division 22478, 22477, 26401, 26402, 26403, 26404 were allotted to private consumers, traders and private limited companies for commercial advertisements through LED TV screens for five years through e-auction. Due to which, non-revenue of Rs 6.5 crore was generated in the division through these advertisements. Extending this series, today, dated 01 September 2025, once again, train number 26405/ 26406 (Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra - Amritsar Vande Bharat Express) LED screen of this train was allotted to a private company through e-auction for commercial advertising at the rate of Rs 24.5 lakh per year and Rs 1.3 crore for the next five years. The non-revenue fare by Indian Railways is focused on various benefits. Apart from financial benefits, it also provides social and economic benefits like improving passenger experience, promoting local arrangements and promoting public private partnership, and with the help of this income, it will be used for the modernization of railways and improvement in passenger facilities. Under this policy, the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of the division, Shri Uchit Singhal said that "Railways' aim is to increase non-fare revenue and here non-revenue fare is not just for financial gain but is a powerful tool for social, economic development of Indian Railways, which is moving towards creating a sustainable transport network with passenger amenities in railways, which contributes significantly towards the nation. So that it can help in improving the infrastructure and services in Railways". |
