JAMMU, Dec 18: The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau has filed a chargesheet in a disproportionate assets case related to a former employee of the Power Development Department. As per an ACB official, the challan in FIR No. 01/2021, registered at Police Station ACB Central, has been presented before the Court of Special Judge, Anti-Corruption Jammu, under Sections 5(1)(e) read with 5(2) of the J&K Prevention of Corruption Act, Svt. 2006, and Section 109 RPC. In the chargesheet filed today, he said, the accused have been identified as Surinder Singh, then Meter Reader, PDD Department (now retired), his wife Meenakshi Bandral, and his son Kunal Singh, all residents of Upper Thathar, Jammu. According to him, the case was registered following a verification by the ACB which revealed that during his posting at Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, the then meter reader allegedly accumulated movable and immovable assets worth crores of rupees in his own name and in the names of his family members, which were found to be highly disproportionate to his known sources of income. |
