Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 18: Further intensifying the probe into the deadly blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested another key accused, taking the total number of arrests in the case to nine. The latest arrest marks a major breakthrough in unraveling the conspiracy behind the terror attack that claimed several lives and left many others injured last month.
According to an official spokesperson, the NIA has arrested another prime accused in connection with the bomb blast that killed 11 persons and injured several others in the vicinity of the historic Red Fort.
The ninth accused to be arrested in the case has been identified as Yasir Ahmad Dar, a resident of Shopian in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. He was apprehended from New Delhi and formally arrested under relevant provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, in case RC-21/2025/NIA/DLI.
Investigations have revealed Yasir’s active involvement in the conspiracy behind the car bomb blast that rocked the national capital on November 10. A key participant in the plot, he had reportedly sworn allegiance and taken an oath to carry out self-sacrificial operations.
Further probes by the anti-terror agency have established that Yasir was in close contact with other accused in the case, including Umar Un Nabi, the deceased perpetrator of the bombing, and Mufti Irfan Ahmad.
Working in close coordination with various central and state agencies, the NIA continues to act swiftly to uncover the entire terror network behind the attack. Earlier this month, the agency conducted extensive searches at the premises of several accused and suspects in

On December 10, the NIA made the eighth arrest in the Red Fort blast case with the apprehension of Dr. Bilal Naseer Malla from Delhi.
A car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort on November 10 killed at least 15 people and injured around 20 others. The NIA and Delhi Police have identified Umar Un Nabi as the suicide bomber responsible for the attack.
The agency has stated that Dr. Malla was actively involved in the conspiracy and had harboured Umar, providing him with logistical support.
Umar and several other accused have been linked to a trans-state “white terror” module operating across Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. This module was initially busted by the J&K Police. Notably, just hours before the Red Fort blast, the J&K Police had announced arrests and seizures of arms and explosives during a crackdown on this network, which included several medical professionals.
