Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 3: The Special Judge designated under the National Investigation Agency (NIA) Act at Jammu Prem Sagar has issued a general (open) warrant of arrest against Jahangir alias “Peer Sahab” (A4), a resident of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), after the court recorded that the accused is absconding in RC No. 01-2024/NIA/JMU (NIA vs Adil Manzoor Langoo & others). In its order dated February 3, 2026, the court noted the statement of the executing police official that despite efforts the accused could not be traced, that no such person was found within the jurisdiction of Police Station Shaheed Ganj, Srinagar, and that he had allegedly left the country and settled in PoK after selling his movable and immovable property. The court initiated proceedings under Section 335 BNSS, directed that a copy of the warrant be sent for publication in the Government Gazette, and forwarded the warrant to the SSP Srinagar through SP NIA Jammu for execution. The case relates to the killing of two non-local civilians in Kashmir, an attack investigated by the NIA as part of a terror conspiracy allegedly involving Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and its offshoot/proxy The Resistance Front (TRF).
