Early Times Report Jammu, May 30: An Agricultural Extension Officer has allegedly been duping gullible people of Samba district by extracting money from them by falsely posing as an officer in Rural Development Department in lieu of providing benefits of various central schemes. Credible source in RDD Samba informed the Early Times that an Agricultural Extension Officer (AEO), who is presently posted in District Reasi and actually belongs to district Samba has been taking bribe from poor people of rural areas by posing as RDD's man. "It is very shocking that the alleged officer belongs to Agriculture Department but he approached people during his visit at his residence in weekend and assured them to provide them benefits of various central schemes which comes under Rural Development Department like Individual Household Latrine (IHHL) under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) etc. by impersonating himself as officer in Rural Development Department Samba, he asked for corruption of Rs 2000-3000 per case to process their files ," they alleged.
