Pandits look towards Modi for, return rehabilitation
5/25/2019 12:14:20 AM
Early Times Report JAMMU, May 24: With Narendra Modi getting second term as Prime Minister, the hopes of over four lakh displaced Pandits regarding their honourable and dignified return to Valley have increased. The Kashmiri Pandits who are leading an exiled life for last three decades are hopeful of their early rehabilitation in Valley in accordance with their aspirations. The Modi Government has also shown its concern since it assumed office for the first time in 2014 towards the plight of the exiled Pandits and had also earlier framed a plan of establishing twin townships in Valley for rehabilitation of displaced people from Kashmir. However with the total opposition from mainstream parties in Valley including NC, PDP and Congress who supported Separatist Hurriyat stand on the issue. They protested against the move with hardliner Hurriyat leader Geelani and others saying that Modi Government is trying to settle outsiders in Valley under the garb of rehabilitation of displaced Pandits. The Government halted the move as BJP's coalition partner PDP too did not support the sa...

TsuNamo destroys anti-India forces, separatist dreams
5/25/2019 12:14:14 AM
Early Times Report JAMMU, May 24: With Prime Minister Narendra Modi, retaining power for the second consecutive term, this historic political victory through Parliament election results has come as a shocker for the anti-India forces and others who were conspiring to provoke the nation through separatist sentiment of sorts. For the anti-India forces in general including naxals and the separatist forces in Jammu and Kashmir in particular, the return of strongman Modi has a strong message. While not bowing to hold dialogue with Pakistan during first innings, Modi also tightened noose around the Hurriyat leaders. Now his coming back for the second inning with a thumping majority, has only ...

PM Modi gets full mandate to crush terrorists, their supporters
5/25/2019 12:14:08 AM
Early Times Report JAMMU, May 24: Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, returning to power is a big setback for the apologetic politicians and leaders, who were questioning the significance and the timing of Balakot air strikes carried out by the Indian Air Force jets in the last week of February this year. An analyst while talking to Early Times said that Prime Minister, Modi, taking a tough stand against the terrorists and their sympathizers in Kashmir and Pakistan had led to few people preaching "non-violence." "They were least bothered about the neighboring country encouraging the terrorists and the hate mongers to attack India. During the past 30-years many Prime Ministers have come and g...

Sajad Lone's dream of chief ministership lands in trouble
5/25/2019 12:13:25 AM
Early Times Report JAMMU, May 24: Separatist-turned-mainstream politician Sajad Lone who was dreaming of becoming the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir has got the reply from Kashmir, as none of the three constituencies of Parliament there voted for him to win. The main shock for Sajad Lone has come from his hometown of north Kashmir seat where he was sure of emerging victorious in the said elections through his candidate Raja Aijaz Ali. But National Conference leader Akbar Lone defeated Sajad Lone's candidate giving a message to the Peoples Conference, that Lone should stop dreaming about becoming the Chief Minister of the state. Since the collapse of the Peoples Democratic Party - ...

Why is liquidation of Musa a big success of armed forces?
Kashmir terrorism
5/25/2019 12:13:17 AM
Early Times Report JAMMU, May 24: Kashmiri terrorist Zakir Musa was eliminated on May 23. The security forces have termed his liquidation a big achievement. Why do the security forces term the liquidation of terrorist Zakir Musa as a "great victory over the cult of terrorism" in Kashmir? They say he was the successor of Kashmiri terrorist Burhan Wani. Zakir Musa was eliminated by security forces in an encounter in Tral. The police said that the identities of the terrorists killed have still not been verified. An encounter ensued between terrorists and the security forces in Dadsara village of Tral in Pulwama district in south Kashmir on Thursday evening. Trapped, the chief of "Ansar Gaz...

Barring Geelani, separatists prefer not to pay tributes to militant leader
Kashmir's drastically changing dynamics!
5/25/2019 12:13:04 AM
Early Times Report JAMMU, May 24: Since the eruption of militancy in Kashmir, this has happened for the first time that the separatists have neither paid any tributes to a slain militant nor have hailed his services. The division amongst the separatist ranks has become so notoriously visible to one and all that except Geelani, no separatist leader issued a statement. Such a development hasn't been witnessed in Kashmir's political landscape till now that a militant leader has been killed and the separatists are silent, issuing no strike, no protest and no chalo calls- a practise that has become more or less a hallmark of Kashmir's separatist movement. It was only the 90-year-old octog...

Now BJP can not give any excuse to delay UT status to Ladakh
5/25/2019 12:07:24 AM
Early Times Report JAMMU, May 24: After giving a decisive mandate to BJP in the Parliament elections, people of Ladakh now wants the party to fulfill its commitment of granting Union Terroritory (UT) status to this mountainous region. Like 2014 elections, BJP has also repeated its promise to granting UT status to Ladakh this time also but after getting historic victory in the election the party can not give any excuse to ignore this demand. Today BJP has absolute majority of its own in the Lok Sabha and similarly party has workable majority in the Rajya Sabha so there is no reason to adopt delay tactics in fulfilling this demand. Credible sources said that during campaign of the electio...

5/25/2019 12:07:14 AM
Early Times Report JAMMU, May 24: Governor's administration on Friday issued a fresh order banning engagement of contractual employees in government departments but similar orders were issued by the erstwhile regimes in the past but these orders were never implemented in letter and spirit. Today's is among a series of such orders issued in 2013, 2016 and now in 2019 but the engagements of contractual employees or one can say the settlement of influential political workers or close ones of bureaucrats has been going on unabated and these orders were merely for public consumption. As per the documents available in public domain, on 28th of March 2013, the then elected government also i...

Congress, PDP down, out in J&K
5/24/2019 11:32:47 PM
Early Times Report JAMMU, May 24: Election results in the sensitive border State of Jammu and Kashmir, like all other parts of the country, are out. Like in the rest of the country, the electorate in the state again inflicted a crushing defeat on the Congress. It had fielded five candidates, 2 each in Jammu province and Kashmir Valley and one in the trans-Himalayan Ladakh but came out of the electoral exercise minus everything. And, its humiliating defeat was on expected lines as it had been flirting both with the Kashmir-based and Valley-centric and pro-autonomy National Conference (NC) of Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah and pro-self-rule People's Democratic Party (PDP) of Mehbooba Mu...
