Early Times Report Jammu, June 15: As the whole world celeberated June 15 as ‘Global Wind Day’ to explore options for using wind energy as one of the important source of renewalable energy, in J&K, no serious efforts have been made to explore the huge potential of wind energy due to the casual approach of helmsmen. Be it democratically elected government or central regime, all promises of development remained only on the papers. J&K’s first wind energy project is a glaring example of the non-serious attitude of those at the helm of the affairs. This project has become a victim of dirty politics. 534 kanals of land for J&K’s first wind energy project ws identified in Bidda village of Reasi district but nothing has been done so far. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) of this first-ever such a project in J&K was prepared in the year 2012 but no further progress was made due to casual approach allegedly being adopted by those who were at the helm of affairs.
