Kashmir set to get first ‘wildlife hospital’, Jammu to wait yet again

Early Times Report Jammu, June 28: As if the discrimination with the people of Jammu region for the last over seventy years was not enough that now even by wildlife animals of the province are allegedly facing discrimination. The government has decided to establish the first of its kind ‘health facility’ for wild animals in Kashmir whereas no such proposal seems to be underway for Jammu. Official sources said the Department of Wildlife has decided to come up with a Wildlife Health Care Centre at Dachigam National Park to provide medical aid to rescued and critically injured animals. Official sources said the proposed multi-crore facility looks ahead to provide medical aid to rescued and critically injured animals in Dachigam National Park on the outskirts of Srinagar. Sources said the health center would be equipped with hi-tech facilities like X-Ray and Ultra-sound for the examination of the ailing animals whereas special cages would also be set up for their medical treatment.
