REASI, July 27: A Junior Engineer (JE) of Public Works Department (PWD) is so powerful that he continues to be posted in the Pouni block of this district for the past nine years or so. The JE ensures that his name is dropped from the list of engineers who are to be transferred.

BUDGAM, July 27: Residents of Jawalapora village in this Central Kashmir district are up in arms against the concerned Block Development Officer (BDO) as the officer is ‘shielding’ a contractor who is not carrying out works allotted to him more than a year back.

SRINAGAR, July 27: The death toll due to Corona Virus in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 321 as nine more people died due to the virus in the past 24 hours. As 470 fresh cases of virus were reported today the total number of cases in Jammu & Kashmir is 18,390.
Reports said that six COVID-19 deaths took place in Srinagar followed by Pulwama with two deaths and Budgam one death. So far 298 COVID-19 patients have died in Kashmir with the casualties being 23 in Jammu division. Srinagar district has the highest number of 94 deaths.
