Early Times Report Jammu, July 2: At a time when the BJP-PDP government in the state has fallen apart and chances of any re-stitching of the coalition look meager, the question related to the declaration of holiday on birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh keeping haunting the BJP on its face. The file, till the last day of the coalition government remained shelved in the General Administrative Department, with those at the helm not giving a damn to the aspirations of the people of Jammu and due respect to the last Dogra king of the state. On January 24, 2017, the upper house adopted a resolution urging the government to declare holiday on September 23 every year on birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh. The private member resolution was moved by BJP MLC, Ajatshatru Singh, who is the grandson of the late Maharaja. The resolution was accepted and Deputy Chairman Jahangir Hussain Mir who asked government to respond.
