ET Report Jammu, Aug 29: Accused of numerous scams including appointment of his own spouse “fraudulently”, an allegedly tainted doctor, who heads a government run hospital in Bemina locality of Srinagar is lobbying for extension of his services. Sources said the medico is scheduled to retire in the coming months but that he is lobbying for his extension and has started doing the rounds of corridors of power including some former ministers and politicians. Sources said the doctor has been telling the government that only he could run the hospital and that if he is allowed to retire, “the system will collapse.” It is pertinent to mention that the doctor has already been under scanner for having unlawfully appointed his wife for a senior post at the same hospital which he heads. Besides he is accused of having elevated a Russian doctor having police cases registered against him at a key post in decision making.
