Ignored, abandoned villages getting heard: Raman Suri
6/22/2019 10:43:29 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 22: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) state executive member, Raman Suri today said that villages which until now were ignored or abandoned are getting heard through 'Back to Village' programme started by state government. He added that several issues confronting villages which until now were not being attended to have come to the notice of government and work on them is likely to be started. This all is a healthy sign of good governance.
Raman Suri in his statement issued here said this it is for the first time that officials of the rank of Deputy Commissioner have moved out of four walls of their offices and sat with villagers on ground to feel pain of ignored sections of the society. The officials who have been fanned in far off places are even staying put in the villages for two days and getting to know about real issues confronting them. Several officials, Raman Suri said have even admitted that this move has given them opportunities to get first hand information about people's issues like that of dilapidated roads, no mobile towers in villages, shortage of staff in schools, scarcity of medicines in primary health centers and no playgrounds in villages. At some places the officials even trekked a long distance to get to know about these issues. During this period when one gazette office is going to each of the around 4,500 panchayats in the state and interacting with villagers its helping government get proper feedback, he said adding that ambitious 'back to village' mission mode programme that's continuing till June 27 across the state is a welcome initiative.
