Early Times Report
Jammu, June 22: As the Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir are drawing closer, Bharatiya Janata Party, leaders have once again started talking about Hindu Chief Minister for the state.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "These leaders are trying to hoodwink the people by creating hype about the Hindu Chief Minister for Jammu and Kashmir."
He said recently a Sikh driver and his son were beaten by the Delhi Police in New Delhi. "Entire Sikh community led by their leaders got together and compelled the Ministry of Home Affairs to seek report from Delhi Police. The two assistant sub inspectors and a constable were suspended for resorting to violence against the father-son duo," the analyst said.
He said, "On the contrary BJP leaders in Jammu have never uttered a word when any Hindu has been harassed or beaten by the police. They have always patronized the men in uniform and have allowed them to carry on with their acts."
An observer said, "The BJP leaders are raising the slogan of Hindu Chief Minister to take people for a ride so that they can befool the voters once again."
He said, "BJP shared power with the Peoples Democratic Party for three years in Jammu and Kashmir and during that period many Hindus were harassed, humiliated and beaten by the Police. None of the BJP leaders could muster courage to convey their displeasure to the police top brass or the MHA. They just maintained silence as they didn't want to annoy the police top brass."
The observer said, "The BJP leaders before raising the pitch for J&K having the Hindu Chief Minister should put their act together and go through their track record. When BJP entered into an alliance with the PDP in 2015 it surrendered everything including the important ministries. The BJP leaders couldn't even convince the late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to have a rotational Chief Minister at place. Having Hindu Chief Minister for J&K was not even discussed. After PDP-BJP government collapsed last year and Kashmir centric parties PDP and National Conference along with the support of Congress staked a claim to form the government in Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP asked its proxy Sajad Gani Lone to stake the claim to form the government at that point of time also party couldn't push the agenda of having Hindu Chief Minister for J&K."
Another analyst said that "BJP leaders stand exposed before the masses and there are no takers for their hollow slogans at least in Jammu."
