14 bovine rescued, smuggler arrested

Samba, June 22: Continuing its drive against the bovine smuggling in the area, District Police Samba has foiled bovine smuggling bid after arresting the bovine smuggler and by rescuing 14 animals at NHW Tapyal in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal.
Acting on the reliable information received at P/S Ghagwal that bovines animals are being smuggled towards Srinagar, a Police Party of Police Station Ghagwal headed by Inspr. Susheel Kumar, SHO Police Station Ghagwal under the supervision of Deepak Digra, Dy.SP Hqrs. Samba during vehicle checking Naka at NHW Tapyal, Ghagwal intercepted one truck bearing Regd. No. JK02AL-6095 which was coming from Kathua side and moving towards Srinagar. During checking of the said vehicle 14 bovines were tied with ropes in a very cruel manner inside the vehicle which were being transported illegally without any permission. The accused driver identified as Ravinder Singh son of Amir Singh resident ofSimbal Camp, RS Pura, Jammu was arrested on the spot and vehicle used was also seized. All the 14 bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place. In this regard, a case FIR No. 58/2019 under section 188/RPC 2/3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
