Is Cong denigrating majority community as per a grand strategy?
'Hindu Terror'
2/4/2013 11:39:50 PM

Rustam
JAMMU, Feb 4: On January 20, Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde condemned the RSS and the BJP as terror-producing organizations. "The RSS and the BJP hold training camps where Hindu terror is promoted," he said addressing the AICC meeting/Chintan Shivir at Jaipur, adding that only recently his ministry got information to this effect. To prove his point he referred to Samjhauta Express, Mecca Masjid and Malegaon blasts and suggested that the RSS and the BJP were behind these blasts. A day later, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) chief Hafiz Saeed, who was involved in 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks as well as January 8 Mendhar attack, congratulated Shinde and demanded that India should be declared a "terrorist state". Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik also said that Islamabad stood vindicated after Shinde's statement.
Did Shinde speak the truth? Or, did he mislead the country by hiding certain very crucial facts in order to tarnish the image of the RSS and the BJP as per a strategy evolved to garner Muslim votes? He, it appears, exaggerated things in order to paint the RSS, the BJP and Hindus black. In fact, it can be said that he did not speak the truth. This is evident from the UN Security Council Resolution and the United States Treasury Department (US-TD) statement on the bombing of Samjhauta Express.
What did the UNSC resolution and the USTD say about the Febr-uary 2007 Samj-hauta Express blasts, which left 68 persons dead? Resol-ution No. 1267, dated June 29, 2009 of the Com-mittee on Sanct-ions of the UNSC, interalia, said: "Qasmani Arif...chief coordinator of the relations of the [Lashkar-e-Taiba] with other organizations...has worked with Lashkar-e-Taiba to facilitate terrorist attacks, including the bombing of February 2007 in the Samjhauta Express in Panipat (India)...In exchange for their support, al-Qaida provided support staff for the February 2007 bombing of the Samjhauta Express in Panipat". The resolution also said that "Qasmani was funded by (underworld don) Dawood Ibrahim. As for the USTD, it on July 1, 2009 issued a statement which said: "Arif Qasmani has worked with the LeT to facilitate terrorist attacks, including...Samjhauta Express bombing." The US named four Pakistanis, including Arif Qasmani (read Execu-tive Order No. 13224). In other words, both the United Nations and the United States pointed figures towards Pakistan.
Besides, the UN and the US, a US probe suggested the name of David Coleman Headley, who confessed his involvement in the 26/11 Mum-bai terror attacks and is in jail these days in the US. Probe was conducted by an independent American journalist Sebastian Rot-ella. His report titled "U.S. agencies were forewarned about suspect in 2008 Mumbai bombings", wh-ich appeared almost ten months later, among other things, reportedly said: "Faiza Outalha, the third wife of David Coleman Headley had confessed in 2008 --confession was made public in 2010 -- that Headley was involved in the Samjhauta blast". Acc-ording to Washington Post (Nov 5, 2010), "Faiza felt that 'she had been innocently used' in the Samjh-auta terror".
Not only this, even Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik had himself acknowledged the involvement of Pakistani terrorists in the Samjhauta Express bombing, of course, with a rider that "some Pakistan-based Islamists had been hired by Lt Col Purohit - Purohit is under police custody -- to carry out the Samjhauta Express attack." He admitted the involvement of Pakistani Islamists in the bombing almost six months after the UN and the US announced sanctions against the LeT.
There is no need to reflect on two other terror-related incidents in Malegaon (Maharashtra) and Mecca Masjid (Hyderabad), as a reflection on the Samjhauta Express bo-mbing is enough to demolish the claim of Shinde. That Shinde did not refer to the investigations of the UN and the US as well as the report of an independent American journalist should clear the air and establish that the intention of Shinde was not pious and that he willfully presented a wrong and distorted picture of facts to tarnish the image of the RSS, the BJP, and, in fact, the entire Hindu community. It's no wonder that he and the Congress party are under severe attack these days, with some of them describing him as "darling" of Pakistan and Pakistani terrorists and as an "agent of Pakistan".
