Ist Vishal Heer Memorial Football Tournament | Young Hero's Club enters semis of football | | Sports Reporter JAMMU, Apr 5: Hosts Young Hero's Club today sailed into the semifinals of the Ist Vishal Heer Memorial Football Tournament, courtesy two goals coming from Rahul Ghai at GGM Science College ground, here. In this first quarterfinal Young Hero's Club trounced fighting Jammu Sports 3-1 to become first side to qualify for the last four stages of the competition. The game, which witnessed protests staged by Jammu Sports over officials panel, remained goalless in the first half of the play. After the breather it was Rahul Ghai who helped Young Hero's take first lead in the 46th minute. Soon Jammu Sports got a chance of equalizer in the 53rd minute but Davian missed the golden opportunity. Lucky enough, Young Hero's improved their lead through Vishal Kumar, who netted the ball in the 60th minute. However, Jammu Sports made a come back converting a penalty kick into goal in the 63rd minute but only to find Rahul Ghai scoring his second and team's third goal in the very next move. For their foul play, Davian of Jammu Sports and Vishal Kumar of Young Hero's shown yellow cards by the centre referee in the first half of the play. Later, Rahul Ghai was obvious choice for the man of the match trophy with two goals to his credit. Koushal Kumar, Harmanjeet Singh, Tanpreet Singh and Rinku Gill comprised the technical penal in today's match. NEXT MATCH: Vijay Hero's shall take on Young Rovers in quarterfinals at 4 pm tomorrow. |
