Cong not happy with the working of NC leaders in Kathua district | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 5: Everyday National Conference leaders issued nearly a dozen press notes to give an impression that they are seriously campaigning for Congress candidates in Jammu province but in reality a number of National Conference are not working with dedication to ensure victory on Congress candidates especially in border districts of Poonch and Rajouri and also in Kathua district. Credible sources said that Congress leadership has brought this matter to the notice of the National Conference high command and demanded that direction should be issued to those leaders who are not working seriously for the victory of Congress candidates. Instead of working for coalition partner Congress these workers have been indirectly supporting BJP or other parties just to teach a lesson to their local Congress leaders of their respective areas. Sources said that in Kathua district, especially in hilly belt of this district, some National Conference leaders who have good hold in their respective areas, are influenced by some BJP leaders and they are covertly working for BJP candidate on Udhampur-Doda Parliamentary seat. Local Congress leaders have brought this matter to the notice of the state leadership. "The matter has been brought to the notice of the senior leaders looking after Udhampur-Doda-Kathua segment so that the same should be forwarded to the NC leaders", a senior Congress leader revealed and in hilly areas there was lack of coordination between NC and Congress workers in hilly areas of Kathua district. National Conference leaders in Kathua are thinking that support to Congress candidate in Lok Sabha elections is not going to give them any political benefit so they are not campaigning for Azad in their full potential. Kathua district, comprised of five Assembly segments, is very crucial for Congress because BJP has a strong base in this district. Congress candidate and Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad, who is contesting from Udhampur-Doda seat has conducted road show in the plains of Kathua but still coordination between National Conference and Congress workers is must to ensure smooth sailing for Ghulam Nabi Azad. |
