JAMMU, Apr 5: The security agencies guarding the International Boarder (IB) and Line of Control (LOC) in militancy infested state of Jammu and Kashmir got some drastic thermal images showing a group of Pakistani infiltrators using the rivulet close to Kathua to infiltrate into the Indian Territory during night hours to carry out terror attacks here.
According to the sources, the security agencies after last Friday's Kathua terror attack killing two civilians, one army personnel and three militants, beside injuring half a dozen civilians and soldiers while scrutinizing the data of thermal imager devices installed in and around the IB got hand to the night video footage caught in thermal imager in which the four infiltrators were caught in the images while crossing rivulet.
After scrutinizing the footage available with "Early Times", during scrutiny of the footage it comes to the fore that group of four militants after swimming deep inside the water reach close to border area or manage to cross into Indian Territory and hid themselves under the rocks and boulders. The sources said that these infiltrators also used swimming suits and other advance equipments so that they could stay inside the water for longer time and swim up to long distance. The sources said that the footage of more thermal imagers installed all along the border area is being scrutinized to check the movement of these militants entering into Indian side and the route used by these infiltrators after entering into Indian territory. The sources said that the foot caught in the thermal imagers gives new direction to the agencies to counter the infiltration.
Even the Central Intelligence Agencies like Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) wrote a detail letter to state agencies sighting possibility of infiltration bids on part of Pakistani militants who are campaigning in Dharman camp in Sialkot Pakistan opposite Hiranagar of Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.
These militants were trained inside Murdke camp and later shifted to Dharman in last week of October 2013. The intelligence agencies in this letter, the copy of which is available with "Early Times" pointed out that these terrorists are in the position of swimming tubes and camouflage dresses along with guides and other necessary assistance to facilitate their infiltration into Indian Territory. The agencies further alerting the security agencies by pointing that these merchants of death will possibly enter in Jammu region through Bain, Shap or Basantar riverine belts in small groups to carry out attacks in Hiranagar/Samba sector beside targetting the bridge over river Chenab at Akhnoor so that the supply line to army and BSF operating in this belt and in Rajouri and Poonch Districts could be snapped.
Meanwhile, the security forces were put on high alert in Kathua, Samba and Jammu districts and special instruction were passed to all police stations of Kathua-Samba and Jammu District to maintain status of high alert and check the vehicles coming in and going out of the area, particularly vehicles traveling during wee hours of the morning. Similar alert was also issued in Rajouri and Poonch districts of Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary constituency schedule to go for polls on next Thursday.
It is pertinent to mention here that earlier the militants used snowy tracks in border belts of Kashmir to infiltrate, but same proved fatal for them. Now the militants were looking for alternative methods to enter into Indian Territory to carry out terror activities with the mission to destabilize peace and tranquility in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
