16 bovines rescued, hunt to nab accused on

Samba, Apr 5: In its continuous drive against the bovine smuggling, Police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued 16 bovines in Samba area while manhunt is on to nab the accused who escaped from the spot.
"On specific information party headed by Rajinder Parihar, SHO Samba under the supervision of Anil Magotra, SP Samba and Vijay Pal Singh, DySP Headquarter raised a naka at Mansar road and intercepted a truck (JK02AG-6481), police sources said. Sources said on seeing the police party, the driver fled away leaving the truck on spot. "The vehicle was found loaded with 16 bovine animals which were being transported illegally without permission, police sources said, adding, "accordingly a case under FIR No. 53/2014 u/s 188 RPC, 2/3 PC Act was registered at Police Station Samba while further investigation is on."
