Srinagar, Apr 5 : The mysterious death of a newly born baby girl here in Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial (JLNM) Hospital Srinagar has shocked the people after Medical superintendent denied involvement of his staff in the death. The police are still clueless after finding nothing substantial in CCTV footage. Pertinent to mention the baby was found dead in a bucket of water in a bathroom of the hospital Friday evening.Talking to Early Times superintendent of Police North Zone Srinagar, Tahir Saleem said that they are watching the CCTV footage taken from the Hospital thoroughly but so far nothing substantial could be found out.
However he said that the police will crack the case shortly and the details shall be presented before the general public through media agencies. Pertinently at a time when Police is clueless about the matter so far and could not arrest anybody, Medical superintendent of JLNM Hospital also denies involvement of Hospital staff in the barbaric incident and instead blames outsiders in the incident.According to him the incident is work of any outsider and as per their investigation nobody from Hospital staff is involved in the case'. "We have gone through Hospital records one by one and questioned all the people who were on duty and mostly remain associated with such activities but could find nothing and I am 100% sure that nobody from Hospital staff is involved in the unfortunate incident," Said Dr Iqbal, Medical superintendent.
He said that he is working as Medical superintendent of JLNM from last two years and this is the first incident of its kind. He said had the baby taken birth in the hospital, the umbilical cord would not be intact rather it would have been cut and treated as per routine. The police have registered a case vide FIR number 15/2014 under section 317 RPC in this regard.
