Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 5: Who is responsible for such a huge damage of roads in twin districts of Doda and Kishtwar?
Despite the fact that the roads and buildings Minister hails from Doda area, but the condition of roads in his home district is so bad that it is better for him to resign from his post.
Starting from the Batote to Pul Doda, which on papers is called National Highway but in reality is worst than a link road. As per an official of Traffic department, at more than 20 places landslides have damaged this road and as rain continue to lash the area, threat of more landslides and damages are on the cards.
"Shooting stones and landslides have become routine affair and Government machinery is focusing on only opening the road for traffic. Vehicles on moving on their own risk as even on dry days there is no guarantee that landslides may not occur," said a senior Traffic official.
But the R&B Minister as well as the Chief Minister is not concerned about the plight of people of twin districts of Doda and Kishtwar citing the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) they are not doing anything.
The R&B department hasn't done anything to improve the condition of roads in these twin districts and the worst hit areas are Batote-Pul Doda and Pul Doda-Kishtwar roads. Apart from that internal road networks in the district Doda are also affected by vehicles are moving on the mercy of God.
The R&B Minister these days is busy in election process and he is not taking care of his department since elections were announced.
