Early Times Report

Udhampur, Apr 10: Terming the hilly belts of State as worst sufferers of opportunistic politics, JKDF State President and Candidate for Doda-Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency, Anil Gupta pointed out that Political groups are exploiting the people of the hilly regions by making commitments which they never fulfill.
While holding rallies in Kishtwar and Doda, Anil Gupta appealed the people to show exit doors to these representatives who comes in local lime light only during the election season for just acquiring the power. Praising the people of Doda and Kishtwar for their simplicity and fervor of nationalism, Anil Gupta said, Despite different odds the people of this region have always stood united to take on the anti social elements and maintained the communal harmony and mutual brother hood. It is irony of the fate that the level of discrimination in this region is highest as compared to other regions of the State, he said. The infrastructure for Education, Healthcare , Electricial supply and Road Connectivity to the majority of remote areas is yet to be build. It seems astonishing that in this modern age, there are areas in this region which still plunge into darkness and are inaccessible to the rest of the world. Government's tall claims of development seems confined to papers only, ground reality is totally different. "Despite, one of the Union Minister in UPA Government hailing from this region, who also claim of making all round development of State have perhaps forget to take on the board the people of this region. What couldn't he did in his tenure as State Chief Minister and long spell in the central portfolios from the past decade, now, promising to build castle in the air seems strange." said Anil Gupta.
