CJM Kishtwar directs police to investigate rape charges against Sonu
Encounter specialist cop in trouble

KISHTWAR, Aug 14: Encounter Specialist cop Shiv Krishan Sharma alias Sonu who was released on bail from Sessions Court Bhaderwah on 31st of last month for his alleged role in making attempt to revive militancy in Doda and Kishtwar Districts is once again landed in a trouble after Chief Judicial Magistrate Kishtwar directed SHO police station Kishtwar to investigate the rape charges against him (Sonu) leveled by complainant (name withheld) accusing the cop of committing the rape on her, beside making a false promise of marriage with her (victim) after committing the crime.
As per the details available with "Early Times", the complainant allege that the accused cop who was posted in Kishtwar before his arrest by the Doda police as SOG in charge and committed repeated rape on her. She said that after committing rape on her, the accused cop take her on gun point and threatened her of dire consequences in case she (Victim) reported the matter to police. She said that in order to cover up his crime, she allege that the accused cop also made promise to her that he will marry her. She said that after sometime when she asked the accused cop to marry her, instead of fulfilling his marriage promise made by him, he informed the complainant that he was already married. She in her complainant further stated that after the arrest of the accused Sub Inspector Shiv Krishan Sharma, she got the courage with the hope that she will get justice approach SSP Kishtwar for registration of an FIR against him. She stated that SSP Kishtwar informed her that the accused cop is already in Doda police custody, added that the statement/custody of the accused is required for the same and assured her that he (SSP) will initiate action against the accused cop once he (Sonu) will be released from police custody. She said that after the release of the accused cop, she once again approached SSP Kishtwar for registration of an FIR against Sonu, but added that to her surprise; SSP Kishtwar refuse to entertain her complaint. In her support the complainant provided the receipts of her complaints forward by her to SSP, concerned DIG, IG Jammu and even to DG Police. After hearing the complainant at length, CJM Kishtwar directed SHO Police Station Kishtwar to look into the complaint and submitted the report to him on or before 18-08-2014.
When contacted senior police officials confirmed to "Early Times" that police has received the directions from honorable court regarding investigation of rape charges against Sub Inspector Shiv Krishan Sharma, but police refuse to provide any further details with the plea that police officials are busy in finalizing the security arrangements for Independence Day. They said that police has till 18th of this month to submit the report in court.
