Anantnag, Aug 14, 2014: In an another unfortunate development, officials of the health department instead of taking action against the employees found absent by Tehsildar Pahalgam in a surprise check, have sent an explanation notice to 'Nurse molestation Victim' for misbehaving with the staff members, who was allegedly assaulted by a lady doctor and blamed for informing the magistrate.
Sources said that on 11th of this month at around 2:30, Tehsildar Pahalgam raided Primary Health Center in Aishmuqam area of South Kashmir and reportedly found all the employees excluding the medical officer Dr Khalid-ul-Rehman and Nurse molestation victim who is posted in the same hospital.
Tehsildar Phalgam too confirmed to have raided the hospital after he received repeated calls from Local Awqaf committee regarding the absence of the employees from the Primary Health Center (PHC). Sources said that the staff members of the hospital had left the hospital to attend a marriage ceremony of a female colleague, who is working temporarily on HDFC fund; however the Tehsildar Phalgam on being contact told Early Times told that he found only few employees absent and assured action against them.
'Nurse molestation case' victim who has now filed a fresh compliant with Police against Dr Shazia and Shakeela (Staff Nurse) for assaulting her on the pretext of informing the Tehsildar told Early Times that after the Tehsildar's Surprise check, lady doctor Dr Shazia and other female staff held a closed door meeting with Chief Medical Officer Anantnag on 12th of August after which on 13th of this month staff members of the PHC Aishmuqam locked down the hospital and went on strike.
"On 13th morning when I reached in the hospital lady doctor and the nurse attacked, kicked, assaulted and abused me and blamed me that I had informed the Tehsildar." Alleged the Nurse Molestation case Victim, adding medical officer on being later contacted too put forward the same reason for the physical assault and strike.
Victim told Early Times that after being assaulted by the lady doctor and nurse she approached police station Asihmuqam and filed a complaint against the lady doctor and nurse.
"However later in the day, Tehsildar Pahalgam and Block Medical Officer Mattan visited PHC Aishmuqam and started enquiring the matter, I too approached the Tehsildar and clarified my position before the staff whether I had informed him or not which he denied and said that he was informed by local awqaf committee but surprisingly the staff members changed their statement and wrote down an application to BMO alleging misbehavior from me." Victim told Early Times.
She said that BMO Mattan has sent her an explanation notice directing her to clarify her position in next three days.
Meanwhile a senior police official on being contacted confirmed to have received a written complaint from the victim.
"Yes we have received a written complaint from the victim and we are investigating the matter." confirmed a senior police official.
Pertinently, Nurse molestation case victim after the police closer report, had approached state High court through a petition challenging the one man enquiry commission that was constituted against the Supreme Court guidelines. Victim in the petition is demanding probe according to workplace anti-sexual harassment Guidelines and accordingly after the submission of the petition, court has issued fresh notice to state government earlier this week.
Nurse molestation case has leveled sexual harassment allegations on Director Health Services Kashmir Dr Saleem-ul-Rehman, Chief Medical Officer Anantnag, Nazir Ahmad Shahdad, and on two other including Dr Ashraf Block Medical Officer Sallar.
