KVK organises five days'training programme | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 30: Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology -Jammu organized five days sponsored training programme on advance horticulture in collaboration with the Department of Horticulture. According to press release, 29 orchardists from different blocks of Udhampur district participated in the programme along with Horticulture Department Officer and technicians. Dr.Banarsi Lal, inaugurated the programme with the warm welcome of the farmers. He introduced to the farmers in detail and enquiring about their special achievements and problems especially in horticulture sector. In this very five day long programme various technical sessions were covered. In this very programme Dr.Banarsi suggested the farmers that they should grow horticultural crops for commercial purpose and motivated the farmers for the entrepreneurship development in horticultural crops. He further narrated about the high yielding varieties of both the temperate and subtropical fruit plants. He gave detail view for the scientific methods for planting the horticultural plants. Dr.Sanjay Kaushal SMS narrated the practices involved in planting the horticultural plants and told the farmers that they can generate employment by growing the horticultural crops. Dr.Shahid Ahamad, PC gave details about the preventive measures of plant diseases for the horticultural crop Programme was assisted by S. Satbir Singh, Manohar Lal, Ashok Kumar, Sanjay Kumar and Mohd. Iqbal. Programme was concluded by vote of thanks by Dr.Banarsi Lal.
