JKAA conducting selection trials today 9/30/2014 11:12:37 PM JAMMU, Sept 30: Jammu and Kashmir Athletic Association is conducting selection trials for U-16 & U-19 North Zone Junior Athletics Championship which is scheduled to be held at Lucknow on 18th and 19th October, 2014. The trials will be held on 1st October 2014 at 3:30 pm at MA Stadium. All the Athletes desirous of taking part are directed by the association to report to senior Athletic Coach of MA Stadium and Associate Secreatary JKAA, S.S Gill on 1st October 2014 along with date of birth certificate. Hindi Fortnight at RKJ concludes JAMMU, Sept 30: Aiming to promote the national language, a Hindi Fortnight, which was inaugurated on September 12, concluded here today at Radio Kashmir Jammu (RKJ). Member Legislative Assembly (MLA), Ashwani Sharma was chief guest. Earlier, various competitions in different categories were organised during this Fortnight. The valedictory function started with lighting of traditional lamp followed by welcome address by Station Head, Shailesh Raina. Speaking on the occasion, Ashwani Sharma appreciated the participants for their performance in the competitions which will greatly help in further promoting this national language. He said that such type of programmes boost the morale of participants besides encouraging others to use Hindi. Earlier, a hindi magazine 'Tawashi' released by the MLA in the presence of other dignitaries. Poem recitation competition was also organized which was appreciated by the audience. Later, the chief guest distributed prizes among the winner of various competitions.
