Jammu, Nov 17: Banda Bahadur Hockey Club Poonch and Guru Nanak Nagar Club won their respective matches to move into the next round of quarterfinals of the ongoing hockey tournament at K K Hakhu Stadium, here today.
In the first pre-quarterfinals, Poonch Club blanked Deshmesh Club Nanak Nagar 7-0. MP Singh was star striker, who made three goals striking in the 46th, 52nd and 57th minute of the match. Ramanjeet (4th), Ravneet Singh (62nd), Hardeep Singh (13th) and Rajesh Sharma (51st) were other scorers.
In other match of the day, Guru Nanak Club outplayed Hiranagar Club 5-4 in tie-breaker to reach quarterfinals. In the stipulated time the match ended in 1-1 draw. Earlier, Hiranagar took the first lead sounding the board in the 35th minute. The lead was equalized by Ranjeet Singh. |
