Jammu, Nov 17 : In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Bar Association Jammu and SumitNayyar seeking various development activities in and around court complex, Division Bench (DB) of High Court comprising Chief Justice MM Kumar and Justice TashiRabstan passed various directions to the concerned in regard to various development activities around court complex including parking, new road, health center and security of the Advocates, Judges and Litigants, While hearing the PIL, the Division Bench further observed that in respect of lawyers' Chamber, Sr. Advocate D. C. Raina, has pointed out that total amount released by the Project Authority so far is Rs 908.00 lakh and the value of the work executed at the site as in October, 2014 is Rs 1115.20 lakhs.
It shows that more than Rs 2.00 Crore is outstanding. In the status report filed by Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, it has been stated that after the release of second installment of Rs 54.00 lakhs, the balance amount of the project i.e. Rs 108.00 lakhs is to be released. After 100 per cent authorization is conveyed by the Planning and Development Department, than the amount could be released and as there is nothing on the record to suggest whether after 5th of September, 2014 the Planning and Development Department has authorized to release all the balance amount or not hence Division Bench directed Sr AAG Gagan Basotra shall file the status report before the next date of hearing. Division Bench further directed to file status report with regard to direction issued concerning the parking and de-congestion of traffic in the High Court as well as District Court Complex be also filed before the next date of hearing.(JNF) |
