Bemina traders’ stage protest | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Nov 17 : Bemina traders com-munity today observed a complete shutdown against the governments alleged failure to compensate the non- insured shopkeepers who suffered losses worth crores of rupees in September 7 deluge. The protesting traders accused the authorities of leaving them in dire straits by turning a blind eye towards the problems they are facing in the aftermath of devastating floods. All the shops and business establishments remained closed in the vicinity while as the traders threatened to take to streets in case the government failed to announce a comprehensive package to reestablish their business. ”Even national and international organizations without any bias extended their support to Kashmiri people, but it is quite unfortunate on the part of the local government which speaks loud about the development of the state miserably failed to win the confidence of disconsolate population,” Ishtiyaq Ahmad President Bemina Shopkeepers Association told ‘Early Times’. He said that the traders without insurance policy want to reestablish their ventures to sustain their families but the government failed to even provide an interim relief to them. |
