MC launches anti-encroachment drive

Rajouri, Jan 20 : After several complaints of frequent use /sale of polythene bags in Rajouri city, officials of Municipal Committee (MC) led by Executive Officer Manzoor Lone today checked various shops and seized polythene bags and fined the violators.
Officials of MC, Rajouri including Executive Officer (EO) Sanitary officer, Khilafwarzi officer etc also removed encroachment by the shopkeepers and also lifted some vehicles illegally parked in Gujjar Mandi chowk causing inconvenience to the commuters and led to frequent traffic jams.
Executive Officer, MC said that about 10 kgms polythene bags were recovered from the vegetable vendors and dealers and also collected Rs 2500 as a fine from them.
"Some rotten vegetables were also destroyed on the spot and all the vegetable vendors and businessmen have been directed to display the rate lists for the convenience of the consumers" said Manzoor Lone, EO.
