Early Times Report

Rajouri, Jan 20: Locals have flayed the Warden Boys Pahari Hostel, Rajouri who allegedly is sitting upon the case of missing of a 6th class student from the hostel from first week of December month and has not reported the matter to the concerned police for the reasons best known to him.
"The hostel was closed for winter vacations on December 20 and was reopened on January 1 and since then the boy instead reaching at house went missing, sources said.
The poor father of the boy, who is not in a position to afford expenses of moving an application, has several times visited the hostel to know about the whereabouts of the boy but every time sent back reportedly sent back with hollow promises- that they (authorities) are looking into the matter.
The matter came to light today when some social activists came to the rescue of Dev Raj, father of Gagan Sharma student of 6th class and getting free education at boys Pahari hostel and helped in moving an application at Police Post Chingus in Rajouri district.
When contacted Sunil Parihar , police post in-charge confirmed that as per the statement of Dev Raj Sharma the boys went missing since December 25th and in this connection a missing report under daily diary report (DDR) No 24/2015 has been registered.
"As the matter was brought to the notice of police today only, police has started investigation and soon the officials of the Boys Pahari hostel will be questioned," said in-charge police post.
In a surprising move the assistant warden, Shahbaz Khan said that the matter was brought into his notice and when he had contacted the Mohd Ishaq, chowkidar he informed him that the boy was missing about a week before the beginning of winter vacations i.e. between December 15 & 20 and the matter was also brought into the notice of Warden by the chowkidar.
Ironically Mohd Bashir Khan, warden Pahari hostel when contacted by Early Times said that Gagan is a grown up child and was not regular at hostel after his T-1 examinations in the month of November. "When student remained absent for several days, his parents were informed about his absence through a messenger as they couldn't be contacted on phone. "In mid month he (Gagan) was seen working with a passenger bus by one of inmate of hostel identified as Mohd Mushtaq" said Warden. Warden of hostel quoting Mushtaq, said that Gagan told him he is happy in working with a passenger bus driver and getting money and is not interested in joining hostel/studies.
"As his parents were informed to contact Gagan ar bus stand , hostel authorities didn't bother to inform the police about his unauthorized absence,' added Warden, Mohd Bashir.
