Union Ministry’s H&FW team arrives on 3 days visit

Jammu, Jan 20: A team from Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare arrived here in Jammu on three days visit to facilitate the preparation of State Programme Implementation Plan (SPIP) of National Health Mission, J&K for the FY 2015-16. The team led by Capt. Kapil Chaudhary, Deputy Secretary, Union MoH&FW accompanied by Dr. Vinita Srivastava National Consultant Union MoH&FW, Padam Khanna Sr. Consultant NHSRC, Dr Nitasha Kaur, Sr Consultant, Mona Gupta, TSA Dr Tarun, Dr Nimisha Goel, Sikha Bansal, Deepak Kumar and Dr Sheema consultants from Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
The team was welcomed by Dr Yashpal Sharma, Mission Director, National Health Mission J&K at Nagrota Jammu and a meeting of Stake holders was held to give brief overview of the SPIP of 2015-16 to the team from Union Govt. It was informed by Dr Yashpal that State Health Society has prepared the SPIP for next FY after getting action plans from District Health Societies, Principal GMC Jammu/Srinagar, Director General of Indian System of Medicine , Director Health Services Jammu/ Kashmir, & Director Family Welfare, MCH & Immunization for which series of meetings were conducted in both the divisions of State in the month of December 2014 and meeting of Executive Committee of State Health Society, J&K was conducted under the Chairmanship of Gazzanfer Hussain, Commissioner/Secretary to Govt. Health & Medical Education on 11th January 2015. The unique feature of Programme Implementation Plan for the FY 2015-16 is that, it also includes recommendations made on the basis of collection of the scientific electronic data that was obtained after conducting the gap analysis in health institutions of the State during last six months, Dr Sharma added.
The team is reviewing the programme wise details of Programme Implementation Plan viz. Maternal Health, Child Health, Adolescent Health, NCD, Disease Control Programmes etc. for providing technical inputs and thereafter will conduct the debriefing meeting with Gazzanfer Hussain, Commissioner/Secretary to Govt. Health & Medical Education on the last day of their visit before the SPIP can be presented to Governing body of State Health Society for onward submission to Union Government for approval.
The facilitation meeting is being attended by Dr Saleem Ur Rehman, Director Health Services Kashmir; Dr Baljeet Pathania, Director Health Services, Jammu along with other officials.
